Round 19 of Betfred League One saw an advantage to the home sides, with four of the five recording victories.
The one exception came in West Yorkshire, where Workington Town defeated Dewsbury Rams. Zarrin Galea’s hat-trick helped inspire the visiting side to a 36-20 success. Galea produced an outstanding score within the hat-trick which saw him bamboozle three defenders on his route to the tryline.
Elsewhere, Goole scored 28 unanswered points to defeat high flying Swinton Lions. The Lions had lead 4-0 through two Jack Stevens penalties. But the Vikings scored five tries, including two from former Super League star Tom Lineham.
League leaders, North Wales Crusaders, also slipped up with defeat at Rochdale Hornets. Luke Forber scored twice during the 20-16 contest.
A dominant first half proved to be enough for Whitehaven as they beat Midlands. Four first half tries gave Haven a 24-10 advantage, which they only added two points in the second 40 in the 26-16 home win.
The final game saw Keighley run riot against bottom side Newcastle Thunder. Andy Gabriel scored four of the 10 tries in the 56-0 success.
